Star wheels, or planispheres, which show what stars and constellations are visible in the night sky at any given time, have been around for a long time. But you always had to have a flashlight to see them in the dark. With the self-illuminated Night Sky Navigator, children and adults alike can easily see what's up at any hour of any night, and take an audio navigation tour while they're at it. You just set the rotating star map to current date and time and look in the window to see a 360-degree simulation of the Northern Hemisphere night sky. Choose from three display modes: one shows the names and outlines of the constellations' star patterns in red, a second shows the mythological figures depicted by the constellations star patterns in blue, and a third displays both at the same time. A glow-in-the-dark compass helps you orient the Navigator in the right direction. Press the Audio button to listen to a step-by-step guide to using the Night Sky Navigator. The backlit LCD screen indicates the time and date.
