The Root Vue Farm lets children follow the growth of three types of root vegetables from the ground up -- and down -- through a clear window. Plant the seeds then have a root race and watch the carrots, radishes, and onions take form below ground. They make delicious scientific salad when they're fully grown. And after the veggies are "harvested," you can plant other seeds of your own for a whole new root-vue growing experience.

The kit includes a sturdy styrofoam base (16"x9-1/4"x5-1/4") with built-in water basin. A self-watering system uses wick action to keep the soil moist. The window is made of break-resistant acrylic. Also included are eight grow mix wafers, three seed packets, ID labels and growth chart, and 16-page Guide to Growing with classroom-tested experiments. For ages 4 and up.
